Showing up with flowers and that charming smile of his that was just for her. That special, adoring smile he always gave her when he saw her that just seemed to say I love you.

Bio: Doug was just like any other kid out there except his father was in Politics. It wasn't until Bud Hammond became the President of the United States that Doug and his brother TJ were thrust into a limelight. Unlike his troubled twin brother T.J., Doug has emerged from his childhood in the spotlight seemingly unscathed. Though nothing is ever as it seems. Now 30, Doug has inherited his parents' intelligence, ambition, and passion for politics. He serves as his mother's Chief of Staff (his mother is the Secretary of State to president Garcetti) and the one that tries to hold his family together. Be that sneaking behind his mother's back giving out secrets or trying to pick up after TJ and help him get better.

But as the demands of his career and family multiply and his engagement to interior designer Anne Ogami faces mounting challenges, Doug struggles to balance the competing demands of his personal and political live-and the cracks beneath his buttoned-up facade begin to show.

Now becoming more like his father than he ever wanted, his relationship with Anne crumbled. Unlike his father he came clean and both realized that maybe there was a reason it was taking them so long to walk down the aisle. The love just wasn't there, then again what can a man expect when he proposes while on 'E' right? He's looking for that right person, and promises himself he won't slip again. He doesn't want to do to anyone what he watched his father do to his mother for years. All this as his mother plans a rebid for the Presidency, TJ working to stay clean, Bud dating women around his childrens' age, and the current President gone missing. Life will never be simple for a Hammond.
